So, you think you’re working with Lean?
The Lean concept is popular at many places and you cannot and should not argue against elimination of waste. Perhaps you are using Value Streams to identify waste and cutting lead times and cost. Fair enough. But, have you identified where to find the serious waste? The serious waste is to be found in not having the right information at your fingertips when and where you need it. You are most probably considering the information dimension in your analysis, but as long as the business is still talking about processes, organization and applications rather than the power of information, you will not reach your potential. You need Information Value Streams. So, gather your guerilla forces to visually show how true information management can support the company’s lean ambitions.
